Employment
Founded in 1983, The Woodhall School provides an opportunity for success to young men of at least above-average intellectual ability in grades 9-12, who have had difficulties in traditional school environments.
The School’s holistic pedagogy meets the student where he is, helps him build confidence in his ability, and develop skills within a college preparatory program.
In all four pillars of The Woodhall School – Academics, Residential Life, Arts & Athletics, and Communications – each student learns to self-reflect, and to express himself, and take accountability in all areas of his life.
Accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC), the School offers a traditional college-preparatory curriculum, offering multiple Advanced Placement courses. Class sizes range from two to five students, thus allowing for individualized instruction.
Students participate in a variety of clubs and interscholastic athletic teams, including soccer, cross-country, basketball, wrestling, and lacrosse, as well as intramural activities such as drama and outdoor challenge.
All members of the faculty and administration share responsibility for the personal and academic growth of each student and participate in all four components of the School. The Woodhall School seeks educators who demonstrate an understanding of the School’s relationship-based approach and believe in a young person’s potential and ability for growth, and in a learning community based on compassion, integrity, and respect.
A successful candidate will possess strong interpersonal and intrapersonal abilities and demonstrate organizational and communication skills. Most importantly, the candidate will embrace the unique mission of The Woodhall School and its focus on the holistic educational process. Experience in boarding schools is preferred but not required.
